Feng Shui - Follow up from our talk in June by Marie-Claire Carlyle

After another fun evening at the Chester Ellesmere Port and Neston network where I had a chance to share with you my insights into the wonderful world of Feng Shui, I thought you might appreciate some follow up help and advice.

One of the most important things you can do for your business is to look after yourself first. Illness and even just a lack of energy, is probably one of the biggest concerns of those of us who run our own businesses. And so it is vital that we gain a good nights sleep each night, giving our wonderful bodies the chance to heal and repair themselves from the day. It is also often the best time to gain inspiration - if something is bothering you , ask yourself the question just before you sleep and trust your subconscious to provide the answer when you awake or certainly within the next day or two. You will be pleasantly surprised.

So to make the best of your nights sleep, please refer below to my top ten tips and feel free to call me if you'd like to know more.

Ten tips for a sound nights sleep in your bedroom

  1. Declutter and clean the bedroom, including UNDER the bed!!
  2. Use "yin"colours- soft, gentle, dark. Football fans need to avoid too many bright reds!
  3. Have a solid headboard on the bed and a good quality mattress on the bed.
  4. Position the bed with view of door and/ or window and with a solid wall behind.
  5. Avoid mirrors, in bedroom, particularly if you can see yourself in them from the bed. Try covering them for a week and see how much better you sleep!
  6. Turn off all electrical equipment at the socket before sleeping. Electricity can affect the delicate balance of your own energies and your body's ability to heal itself.
  7. Avoid having TVs in bedroom and especially watching late night horror movies! Far too much yang and harmful energy to be able to sleep peacefully
  8. If you absolutely must have a mobile phone in the bedroom make sure it is turned off. The alarm will still work
  9. Remove any handsfree digital (DECT) phones from the home. Their microwaves are strong enough to pass through walls and ceilings and over time can have a detrimental effect on your health. As an absolute minimum, unplug these phones at nighttime so that your body can rest fully.
  10. Use restful imagery in the bedroom, ideally scenes from nature or couple images. If in a relationship, have a loving picture of the two of you and NO other pictures in the bedroom, including of children, even yours!

Forum LCD Projector for Hire!!

Many companies cannot afford the cost of an LCD projector or use one infrequently and cannot justify the capital costs. To address this need, the Forum has purchased a projector that can be hired by the members as well for use at our meetings.

The procedure for hiring the projector is:

1. The overhead projector (Epson EMP-X3) will be kept at Stanley Staff’s offices, 36-38 Cambridge Road , Ellesmere Port, Cheshire , CH65 4AG.         Tel: 0151 356 3181.

2.  The projector can be loaned to members (non-members are exempt) for an agreed amount of £20 for 48 hours, £50 returnable deposit, subject to the return of all parts/pieces in same condition.

3. Any member wishing to loan the projector will need to contact Netty Wilson, Operations Secretary of Stanley Staff, between the hours of 9.00am and 2.00pm , Monday to Friday to arrange a mutually convenient date/time for collection and return of projector.

The keeper and hirer will make sure that it is returned in the same condition as it was when hired out.

4. Should the projector be returned damaged or missing any part then the repair/replacement of part(s) will be paid for by the member responsible.

Anyone hiring the projector must sign the INDEMNITY STATEMENT:

I ………………………………………. of ………………………………… agree to the hire of the Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston Business Forum’s overhead projector (Epsom EMP-X3) from (dates) …………….. to ………………… at a total charge of £……………………..

I agree to Clause 4 above in its entirety and am happy to replace to any missing parts or repair any damage as agreed by the Chairperson of CEP & NBF or agree to pay the invoice for the repair to the above overhead projector or replacement of missing parts during my period of hire.
